COOP 1000 : Cooperative Internship Work Placement Performance

**Discontinued** was last offered Summer 2007 Last Updated: 03-MAY-2005 Students who are motivated to find their own career-related work experience often want co-op credit or they, or the Co-operative Education Department, may be approached by an employer who wants to or can only hire a co-op student for a position. This is a general co-op internship that provides students who are not in a co-op program but are registered in Career and Arts & Science Limited Enrolment programs, with an opportunity to become familiar with the real-life application of theoretical studies in their chosen field and to earn credit for career-related work experience. This course will not be part of a program, rather it is an option that all Career and Arts & Science Limited Enrolment programs can utilize. The program faculty will be involved to ensure that the work experience is valid and appropriate and that the student is suitable. The Co-operative Education Department will administer the process and liaise with the faculty and student to ensure standards are met. The standards will be based on the current co-op model.

Prerequisite(s): BUSM 1310 with a minimum grade of "C-". Approval from both department chair/advisor of academic program and co-operative education. Note: Restricted to students meeting the admission requirements of Cooperative Education. Interested students should contact the Cooperative Education Department for more details.
