**Discontinued** was last offered Spring 2002 Last Updated: 08-AUG-2001 The development of knowledge, attitudes and appreciation of natural resources for outdoor recreation in winter and alpine environments. Emphasis is placed on environmental ethics, physiology, snow physics, wilderness travel, and trends in tourism as each relates to winter outdoor recreation facilities and leisure services. Participation in a field school is a required component of the course.
