**Discontinued** was last offered Fall 2001 Last Updated: 08-AUG-2001 This is a foundation course which prepares the small business student for the more detailed courses in the second semester. This course introduces the student to the business plan and explains how the business plan underpins all other courses in the program. It is also a practical introduction to "everything an entrepreneur needs to know" in preparing to establish a business. The course includes the applications of contract law, people management, small business technology, operations management, managing relations with suppliers, selecting and locating business premises, and consumer protection regulations.
