BIOL 1110 : Tropical Biology (Field Study)

**Discontinued** was last offered Spring 2005 Last Updated: 13-JUL-2005 This is an intensive 12 day course, 8 days of which will be field studies in Hawaii. The theme of the course is tropical bio-diversity and the impact of human activity on tropical ecosystems. Basic principles of biology will be discussed before studying tropical botany, marine biology and tropical ecology. The discussion will finally focus on human beings as a component of tropical ecosystems, and as a major factor leading to changes in tropical ecosystems. This course is open to all arts and science students.
