Discontinued as of 201730 This course offers students a strong foundation in the principles of digital design, stressing an awareness of digital colour, line, shape, form, pattern, texture, and space. This studio based course will focus on an introduction to design software, encourage students to both recognise and apply each of the design elements in creative and applied projects, and develop confidence in working in a Mac computer environment. Students will receive credit for only one of FINA 1140 and FINA 1141. Registration in this course is restricted to students admitted to the Diploma in Fine Arts Program. Prerequisite(s): One of the following: LET with a minimum Level 3; LPI with a minimum 26 on the essay and one of 5 in English usage, 5 in sentence structure, or 10 in reading comprehension; BC English 12 or equivalent with a minimum 80%; BC English Literature 12 with a minimum 80%; BC English First Peoples 12 with a minimum 80%; a university-level English or Communications course for which Langara awards transfer credit, with a minimum "C-" grade; or a minimum "C" in ENGL 1120; or an 'S' in one of ENGL 1107, 1108, or 1110.
