Students are introduced to an overview of disability and injury. Topics include causes and risk factors of different types of disability and injury at regional and global levels, and science-based strategies for prevention. Students also critique the application of human rights as they apply to disability. Note: Students wanting to complete a BSc at SFU in Health Sciences must take BIOL 1115. Students wanting to complete a BA at SFU in Health Sciences must take one of BIOL 1111, 1115, 1116, or 1175. Students wanting neither a BSc nor a BA at SFU in Health Sciences may complete any one of BIOL 1111, 1115, 1116, 1175, 1190, or HKIN 1190.
Prerequisite(s): A minimum "C" grade in HSCI 1130 and one of the following: BIOL 1111, 1115, 1116, 1175, 1190 or HKIN 1190.
