NURS 4100: Health IV: Health, Healing, and Advocacy

In this course, students consolidate their knowledge of health, family, and community by reflecting on emerging health issues and trends faced by populations locally and around the world. Students examine a select number of political, environmental, and ethical factors that give rise to the unequal distribution of health resources. Students focus on the important role of nurses locally and globally in relation to sustainable development, the burden of disease, and various international health initiatives. This course is delivered in a mixed-mode format. Corequisite(s): NURS 3161, 3165, 3364, and 3367.

Registration in this course is restricted to students admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Prerequisite(s): A minimum "C+" grade in all of the following: NURS 3209, 3261, 3262, and PHIL 1105; and an "S" grade in NURS 3264 and 3265.
