Discontinued as of Fall Semester 2016 Environmental planning requires an appreciation of how the natural and physical environment can be protected and the constraints they impose on urban and rural development. Students will receive an introduction to the main issues to be addressed by planners, and indications of the implications for regional policy and site analysis. The course combines consideration of the major topics, with a series of case studies on environmental planning. Prerequisite(s): Any two of APPL 1110, 1130, 1140, 1210; or BIOL 1118 or 1115; or permission of the program co-ordinator.
